my spot @ ink & spindle...

You've all had a peek into Lara's spot in the office...it's time to show you mine :)

very happy with it...check the ink & spindle blog for more updates...

surprise package...

A while ago I sent some scrap fabric to Sherrin and she made badges from the fabric. I love seeing what people make of my fabric and yesterday when I got home from work, there was a lovely surprise package in my mailbox. A thank you from Sherrin. Isn't it gorgeous, I totally love the badges and the big pouch is going to be a pencil case in the studio :)
Thank you Sherrin, I love the surprise!

Now I'm off to the studio...we're about to prepare our table surface...another step closer to our first print run. I popped into the studio after work yesterday and the girls had been so sweet to build my desk chair that had arrived, they're stars! Can't wish for any better business partners. I'll take some pictures of my workspace today so I can show them later.

bloesem at home

Irene from Bloesem asked me to share a few of my favourite design pieces at home, as part of the 'your own private museum' series. You can find the end result on her blog...

I found it quite hard, since I only moved to Australia in 2005 and even though we've bought so much stuff, there is nothing that I have from 'my past'. The only thing reminding me of my past in Holland is a trunk full of books. One day I'm hoping to ship some family pieces down to Australia...such as the amazing cradle that we all slept in, even mum.

I'd really like to thank Irene for this amazing opportunity! I really enjoy looking at what everyone is showing...it's like a little sneak peak into people's private world.

too long...

...ok that took way too long! Last week was a total miss, I spent most of the week sweating it out on the couch. not cool. but I'm back, although not yet my old self as my voice is still husky. Some people call this sexy, I call it embarrassing.

The plan was to show you some of my new designs, but then I got sick. So here a - belated - sneak peak of the 2009 range...soon to be printed at the ink and spindle studio. yay!

sick...

I've been sick since Monday and I was sort of hoping that it'd be over by now...but I'm still in pain. I guess I'm gonna have to sweat it out and keep my mouth shut, not that I can talk anyway...

I'll be back when I'm feeling better...hopefully soon.

Meanwhile, the sale is still on in my shop.

doodling...

I've never had my own website...only the blog...but a few weeks ago I opened up Dreamweaver for the first time. I have to say, it looked a little scary at first, probably because I have no experience building websites and had never created anything in Dreamweaver.

Well, here is the result (after at least 10 different versions) and although it's not very flashy and super basic...I'm quite proud of myself. At least it works ;)
I still have a long way to go figuring out how to build a fancy website, but that's what I have a book for.

I've also been doodling with fonts...printing it...seeing what it looks like framed etc. Am trying to put some prints together for my little nook at the studio. Etsy has been a great help, but I also want something simple...something with words...
