Sydney shopping...

We're back from Sydney and although I promised to take pictures...I didn't take that many. We went shopping on Thursday to buy Marcel's brother a birthday present, so I only saw Bondi Junction on that day. They have some lovely shops there. We visited:

Miljo

Papaya

and lost my way.

On Friday we went to the city to meet Marcel's friends for lunch and in the afternoon we made a quick visit the Camper store in Chatswood. Yay, I got myself a pair of Camper boots at a bargain price (50% off). In the evening we went to a fancy restaurant for a birthday.

Then on Saturday we went to Publisher Textiles, which was absolutely like going to heaven. I got to see their printing studio and amazing shop which is full of their fabrics, wallpaper and products such as cushions and lampshades. I also went to the bird textile store and David met Nicole...this was the best day of the weekend...amazing!

back to school...

On Sunday I'll go to the second, and last, session of my textile design course and our teacher gave us homework. Here's what I've been working on...I'm still trying to get it perfectly lined up as the scan lines are not as accurate as the actual drawing, but I'm getting there.

Sproutdesign...

Some of you would have read about this on Kristen's blog already but I still want to mention it here and show you what I came up with.

Sproutdesign, which falls under the umbrella of One Small Room, asked a group of Australian textile designers to come up with new and fresh kids textiles. The range will be launched this August at the Life in Style trade show in Melbourne.

I submitted a few designs and this is the lucky one...a real boy's one...

These are not the final colour ways...just screenshots of what I created.

and here a picture of all the designs that will be launched at the Life in Style show.

The following patterns are concepts only, nothing has been printed on fabric (yet)...I would really appreciate your feedback on the designs and would love to hear your colour suggestions...thanks a lot.

more bricks...

I just put some more olive and orange bricks up in my etsy shop. There's only 50cm left of the orange in my etsy shop and 1m in my bigcartel shop...and there's still a fair bit left of the olive & chocolate...

and have a look at Lara's gocco printed wrapping paper...what a great idea for handmade wrapping paper. I love the sia's village print and I have to say I'm one of the lucky people who has this print hanging on their inspiration wall.
