Southern Grampians...

We're back from our trip to the Southern Grampians. It was great to be away for a few days but unfortunately Marcel got a fever on Sunday, so we couldn't enjoy ourselves completely.

Mt Sturgeon & Mt Abrubt

We left Friday morning and had lunch at Dunkeld's fantastic Royal Mail Hotel. It's definitely a beautiful location and the food was delicious too. Marcel and I got together in the Grampians so we have a strong connection with it. It was great to be back.

Nigretta Falls (which doesn't flow...)

Our accommodation was in Hamilton, which is a very charming country city. We had breakfast at the darriwill farm cafe which was so yum. I also bought raspberry & kirsch jam and lemon & caper mayonaise in their shop, gotta love deli goodies.

Me & Marcel in the botanic gardens

We visited many of the historic towns, dry waterfalls, empty lakes (it's shocking and sad to see how much water has vanished) and strolled through the botanic gardens. The Southern Grampians is a lovely place for a holiday and we'll definitely go back there.

I love that last photo!
Sad about the lakes and waterfalls. Hope Marcel feels better soon.

I love the Southern Grampians - my sister lives in Hamilton, so we visit regularly. Darriwell Farm is a favourite! Great photos - but sad to see that Nigretta Falls is dry now.

I love the Southern Grampians and love Darriwell Farm! But all of my favourite walks are definitely in the Northern Grampians. Actually... I think I just like ALL of the Grampians ;-) Unfortunate about the fever though.. hope it isn't contagious.

I love the Darriwell Farm cafe... it is definitely a must when going to Hamilton... I live in Halls Gap in the Grampians and there is not much water this way, but lots of great walks.
