Summer is on it's way, I just know it ;) Today we reached a temperature of 25 degrees in Melbourne and spring hasn't even started yet. Sad thing is that I was locked up inside behind my computer at work on the 11th level of a city building. Couldn't really enjoy the weather as I don't even have a window. Ah well, I'm sure there will be plenty more sunny days in spring and summer.
Today is one of those days where I had to drag myself out of bed, subconsciously getting on the train, work all day, pack up again and do the train thing in reverse. Guess I just totally missed this day, it was over before I knew it. (which is good when you're at work).
On Thursday we're going to the movies. Marcel & his classmates arranged a fund raiser for their final year photography exhibition. Everyone is welcome by the way. The movie is Sicko, played at Cinema Nova. Tickets are $15 and the movie starts at 9pm. (Tickets will have to be bought before 8.15pm from one of the students in the foyer)
Back to do some more designing & sewing.

drawstring purse...
Here's a drawstring purse I made today from Amy Butler's pattern. Looks cute, doesn't it.
The rest of the day wasn't very productive though as I was still tired from yesterday. It was great fun helping out with the awards night (especially if you get a 3 course dinner for free) and the best thing of the night was the warm apple crumble with vanilla custard....delicious!
I went to the supermarket today (we never buy our groceries at the supermarket) because our local fruit & veg store isn't open on Sundays. Gosh, everything is so expensive. I had two green bags full and it cost me $70. Normally we come home with 4 bags for that price (including yummie Italian Gelato). No more shopping at Woollies for us...the local shops are way better and way cheaper.

isidore...
meet the gorgeous Isidore...I won her in the made it link competition and I absolutely love her. She was made by Jhoanna from One Red Robin and sent to me by made it. Thanks so much!
Today I'm helping a friend out who organised an awards night for the members of her work. It's going to be a long day, but it will be fun. It's just helping out with the catering and the bar. Should be fun.

lazy sunday...
I'm having a lazy Sunday, while the boyfriend is preparing for a wedding photo shoot he's doing next week. Sometimes it's just great to have a day for yourself and that's what I am having today. This morning I went to the Williamstown Craft market to have a look what's around and to enjoy the lovely scenery. It's a great place to go for a walk along the waterfront and the city looks great from this end of town.
Then this afternoon I watched two movies (both Bridget Jones) and worked on a very simple sewing project. I'm very pleased though, don't they look gorgeous...

Scrapbooking flashback...
I always love everyone's flashback Friday's and feel somehow sad that I can't participate. Not because I don't have a past, but merely because all my kiddie photos are back home at mum & dad's (in Holland). I'll post one flashback...it's only a year ago though. My friend from Germany came to visit and we went to the Dandenong Ranges, which was wonderful because all the birds were out and about. They particularly loved my hair.
I really like this photo, just because it is silly and I can remember the ticklish feeling it gave me. I used this photo in a scrapbooking album and that's where the pic comes from.
I also updated my flickr with photos of the cushions I sent to my mum. It took them a week to get to Europe and I didn't want to spoil the surprise by posting pics of them. She loves them.

where did my time go...
Am a bit off the planet this week...even though I am only working 4 days this week (yay, got tomorrow off) time went really slow during the day and too fast at night. I haven't really be able to finish anything on my 'to do' list. I started a few things but I can't seem to finish things because of the lack of time.
Everyone else has really interesting projects going on and cool stories to tell...and I just have one of those 'useless' weeks. Hopefully the weekend will be better, going op-shopping, fabric shopping, visit artist markets & going to a b-day dinner (for which really have to finish one of the bags that I started weeks ago).
Well, here's some of what I did tonight, besides researching business stuff.

building, crafting, cooking ...
a recap of our weekend...building a storage rack for Marcel's camera stuff (I'm the 'handy woman' in this house), sewing cushion covers, designing a birthday card for my cousin and making a delicious chicken burger with brie and butter caramelised apple. Time to relax tomorrow ...

@ home ...
I've been home for the past two days because of what happened on Tuesday.
My neck is really painful and it's getting a little annoying now. I can't even get out of bed normally...have to roll over till I'm facing the mattress and then get onto my hands and knees to get out of bed. Marcel thinks I have a whiplash, which I think is a little bit of an overstatement, BUT it does hurt.
Doing nothing is not really in my nature, so I'm doing things that do not require bending over, looking up or twisting my head...which is stuff on the computer and sewing. So here's what I've been upto:
- drawing
- sewing
- finishing pinki lily
- bag making
- trying Illustrator CS3 (mind the mess..this is Marcel's photography room, I just sneak in to use his mac)
and relaxing.

Fainted...
Went to the doc today to get a vaccination..and I know that I can't handle needles, but I thought I could handle this one...When I was younger I had to have one in my arm and went straight to work after that, nothing happened, I was fine. Today was a different story though...the needle did go in my arm...I did feel a little dizzy after I got up, but told myself to keep going. Once back at the reception desk the lady told me that I still had to sign something...the next thing I know is that I banged my head on the floor..ouch! I had fainted right in front of the reception desk and the doc told me I had to stay there for at least another 3 minutes. Felt really ashamed there, and of course it was rush hour at the docs, everyone was looking at me...and I really wanted to go home. Thank god I got home safe...was about to faint again...those jam packed trains #@$@#*@&@#
