screen printing ... my first print run

Wow, today we printed our first run...on fabric...by hand...our hands.
I'd never screen printed before (gocco-ing doesn't really count) so I was super excited squeegee-ing the ink through the screen.

Tegan & I printing

The result is amazing. We were a little bit worried about our table setup etc, but it seems like we did a fantastic job. I think we might be open for business very very soon :)

hibernation or jet lagged...

I'm not sure what's going on, but I've basically been sleeping for the last 3 days. My friend said it could be a belated jet lag...hmmmm...maybe. It probably also has something to do with the cold weather. Every time I wake up I just think to myself...5 more minutes but then hours fly until I wake up again. Guess I needed it.

I did manage to do some crafty things yesterday, so I haven't been sleeping the whole time. I went to Spotlight together with my neighbour and we bought some fabrics to make pillowcases for our beds. She even bought enough to make a doona cover. (not very hard if they offer 2 metres for the price of 1)
So as soon as we got home she got onto my sewing machine while I decided to do some screen printing on felt.

Here's the result...a Dutch 'oma fiets' (granny bike)

ps. I haven't started on my pillow cases yet, but I promise I'll show you a picture once they're done.
