winter sale...

Winter is not quite over yet...but I long for spring and summer. I still fill up my hot water bottle every night to keep my feet warm. For all you Aussies who do the same thing, I'm having a winter sale in my shop. Warm snuggly hottie covers and scarves.
For everyone in the northern hemisphere, this is your chance to prepare for your cold season...

We'll be away for the weekend...It's Marcel's birthday on Saturday and I'm taking him away on a trip. The destination is a surprise so I'll let you know where we've been on Monday. Have a great weekend!

The Melbourne International Design Festival will be on from the 17th till the 27th of July and the Design Market is a part of it. Together with some other very talented Melburnians I will be participating in the Bamakko stall - Thanks Ben! I've never been to the festival and am very excited to be part of it.

Come check out the Bamakko stall on the 20th of July. Hope to see you there!

Back to sewing...I still have a lot to sew...more pics tomorrow when the light is back ;)

harry land ...

Hi there, I'm finally back on the planet after a week in Harry land. What a book...loved it. For everyone who hasn't quite finished it...I won't spoil the fun, you'll find out what happens. I was exhausted though, after I finished it on Thursday at 1am. The previous nights I had been reading it until I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. It's like they cast a spell on you...'keep reading till you fall asleep'. Anyways, it was a great book and I think Marcel is happy to have his girlfriend back.

Yesterday we went to see Christina Aguilera in concert, which was an early birthday gift for Marcel. I was amazed by the amount of youngsters at a concert. Back when I was young I could only dream of going to a concert, let alone wear a mini skirt and make-up. Guess times have changed... We felt old though, which is weird cuz we're only in our mid-20's. Anyways, Christina has an incredible voice, I didn't know any human could produce such a sound. It was a great night out.

And today, we're going to the craft & quilt fair at the Melbourne exhibition centre...so excited...

And here's something I finished last week...another hottie

it keeps me busy...

well..here's another one..simply because it is sooo cold here that 1 is not enough because we ... well ... both need the water bottle. Apparently it hasn't been this cold in Australia for 20 years. People keep saying I should be used to it, coming from Europe. I can tell you this...I'm not! I feel cold too :( BUT with the water bottle covers we can cuddle up in bed, be warm and not worry about what's happening outside...at least not until the next morning. Gotta love scrap fabric...

hot water bottle cover ...

It was time to make a cover for our hot water bottle. The feeling of the hot rubber is not quite pleasant and we normally kick the bottle out of bed after 10 minutes because we burn ourselves...so I decided to make something more cuddly.
Since I first wanted to make a 'test' cover..this one doesn't look that flashy, but I will make some covers with nicer fabric soon.
